Tending the Garden: Poetry as Seeds

of Hope and Inspiration

  •  Tuesdays, April 30, May 7 & 14, 2024

  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM CST/ online

Let’s use the garden as metaphor to explore cycles and seasons, including planting seeds and tending, abundance and decay, beauty and nourishment, weeds and herbal medicine, Grandmother wisdom and Mother Nature. We’ll play with the belief in a paradise and fall from it and how Mother Nature is a maternal instinct. We will discuss how to mix sensual details and metaphor in a way that feels organic and urgent. We’ll read poems by Ada Limon, Toni Morrison, Jack Gilbert, and Joy Harjo to inspire our own. We will contemplate how not all gardening attempts are successful and yet we can always try again.

All levels of writers are welcome as well as all levels of gardeners!

No writing or gardening experience required!

Register at Wisdom Ways

Being Present with Grief is on May 20 and June 17 at 7:00 PM

We are present with each other and any grief you are experiencing--loss of a loved one, a pet, a job, a home, a dream, or a physical ability. We use ritual, words of inspiration, silence and sharing.  We end with a somatic practice to ground ourselves. This is not a typical support group but a way to feel supported. You are also welcome to come and just BE. We meet at the temporary home of Unity which is in the Robbinsdale Parkway Church of Christ which is at 4200 Lake Road, Robbinsdale, MPLS

FREE and open to the public.  Love offerings welcomed.  Please arrive on time in consideration of how we begin each session. Pre-registration is not required.
